A 15-year-old teenager had to be rushed to hospital on Friday after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest on a Torrenueva Costa beach.

The incident occurred in the early evening, around 20.00h on the beach in front of the Urbanización Acapulco.

The lifeguards immediately began CPR, also using a portable defibrillator, until an ambulance with its paramedics arrived.

After stabilising his pulse and breathing he was rushed to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril, where he was placed in the Intensive Care Unit. Hospital authorities said that his condition was very serious.
