A man in his early 30s was arrested by the Policía Nacional in Ronda (Málaga) in connection with the break-in at a bar.
The police managed to track down the suspect… because he had left his mobile phone at the crime scene.

It was the owner of the business, whilst checking the damage caused by the thieves, who came across the mobile phone. It had no lock setting in place so he could access it. And there in the profile settings, was a photo of its owner.
Before you could say, “You should be more careful,” the suspect was identified, arrested and sitting in police custody.
The burglary had taken place on the 24th of May around six in the norning. Upon forcing entry, they set off the burglar alarm, so the culprits scarpered, hurriedly grabbing what they could first.
They had caused quite bit of damage in that short space of time, forcing the door an throwing the cash register against the floor in an attempt to break it open. Their booty was 259 euros, which was of course is a lot less than the cost of righting the damage.
The police also attributed other crimes to the suspet, including three house burglaries, the theft of a moped from a garage and breaking into a car in order to steal any valuables within.
The arrest came about shortly after a patrol car came him across him on a moped, so they gave chase but he got away after abandoning the vehicle only to be tracked down and this time cuffed shorty afterwards.
Editorial comment: why in God’s name would you take anything that would identify you on your person when carrying out a burglary? *Sigh!*
