1st Prize in Bad Parking

There is bad parking, in which Spain admitedly holds at least a Silver Olympic Medal in this 'art' (Italy holds the Gold) but quite another thing is blocking in a police car and walking off.

The Policía Local in the city of Granada posted this photo on one of its social-media accounts, “which they entitled, “Hold-my-Pint! Parking” (Aparcamiento Sujétame el Cubata).

The driver had double-parked her Mercedes right behind the patrol car, completely blocking it in, whilst she strode off to do a spot of shopping, she later explained.

This happened on the 22nd of June but the said police force has only now decided to publish the fact on their social-media page.

The officers had parked and gone into a bar for a coffee and when they came out, they couldn’t believe their eyes; they immediately phoned for a tow truck to remove the offending vehicle.

With the recovery vehicle already on its way, she returned to her car, apologised to the officers and explained that she had just nipped across to do some shopping. She also explained that she hadn’t realised that she had blocked in the patrol car. In other words, perhaps, she knew that she had blocked another driver in, but was not aware that it was the fuzz.

The tow truck was cancelled but she also had a piece of paper to take home with her shopping… a parking fine.
