Talking of DUI drivers, one Thursday last month a women managed to block a tramway in the centre of Granada: personalised parking, no less.

The Policia Local arrived and breathalysed the woman who was well over the limit — she was fined 500 euros and lost four points from her driving licence.

In the meantime, the car was straddled over the tramlines, bringing to a halt the tram service on that line, so officers from both the Policía Local and the Guardia Cvil, with the help of some bystanders, managed to shove  the car off the track.

It took half an hour, during which time there was no tram service on the line.
