The Guardia Civil arrested two individuals, suspected of being behind a series of break-ins within the municipality of Murchas.
The two men, aged 28 and 41, allegedly targeted rural properties during May and June.

The Roca unit belonging to the Guardia Civil post in Armilla began their investigations after receiving complaints by property owners, saying that thieves had stolen tools and livestock feeds.
The officers centred their investigation on local scrapyards to see if they had items that fitted the description of the stolen items. In fact, the officers were able to identify several items that perfectly matched the descripitions given by the victims of the burglaries.
From then, it was relatively simply to identify the person(s) who had brought them into the scrapyard in question.
The police decided to keep an eye on the suspects, during which time another theft went down, this time targeting copper cable and other metal objects to sell for scrap. The police gained CCTV footage of the two suspects in their vehicle transporting the stolen material.
Matching the description of the suspects with the CCTV images the police were able to confirm their identity as being behind the cases of theft, so they moved in and arrested them, bringing them before a police court.
