There are plans for turning the old Radiovisión building on Calle Nueva into a hotel, according to Mayor Chamorro.

Accompanied by Vice Mayor and Councillor for Tourism, María Ángeles Escámez, she presented the idea before the press, stating that this was proof of her administration’s push to increase the number of hotel beds in Motril.

“Building a new hotel in an urban area requires a lengthy administrative process involving multiple authorities; it’s not a quick endeavour,” she explained.

She added, “We can announce that the Motril Town Council is in contact with several hotel companies interested in building a hotel using what used to be the Radiovisión building.”

The Councillor of Urban Planning considers that, “Motril is becoming trendy. Our town is transforming, with more hotel projects coming to fruition.”
