Almuñécar’s Blackouts

People in Almuñécar are not happy bunnies over the spate of power cuts, which always seems to happen at the beginning of summer.

The PSOE opposition party called on the Mayor, to get it sorted and give the energy utility company, Endesa, a spot of hassle.

The governing party, however, through the Councillor for Public Works, Francisco Rodríguez, not only recognised the inconvenience, both in homes and businesses that has been caused, including toasted toasters and damaged electrical appliances in general, but also opened fire on the PSOE.

He pointed out that the administration that has the responsibility for ensuring a steady supply of electricity in Spain is the Central Government, more specifically, the Ministerio para La Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico, (coming under the Secretaría de Estado de Energía). And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is run by the PSOE.

He suggested, therefore, that instead of complaining to him, they should take it up with their own party in Madrid.

Warming to the task, he did also just happen to mention that the Central Government has still not issued a definitive report on what the hell happened during the day-long blackout across the whole of Spain on the 28th of April.

He concluded that residents of Almuñécar have at their disposal the Oficina Municipal del Consumidor situated in the Casa de La Juventud, where any consumer complaints can be registered. It is open during the week from 10:00h to 14:00h and then from 16:00h to 19:00h. However, you have to call first to make an appointment on 958 838 600.
