Almuñécar Councillor for Urban Development, Javier García, announced that Avenida de Europa is now open to traffic, as work on the exterior of the Municipal Market has concluded.

But not for long, because he also announced that it would receive a new layer of tarmac, requiring that it be closed off again for a couple of days.

He concluded by saying that the work going on inside the market building is going ahead “at a good pace.”

Avenida de Europa, if you are not sure, is the road that goes from Avenida Costa del Sol, down past the Municipal Market, and the Parque Majuelo before reaching the Paseo de San Cristóbal; i.e., it runs parallel to Calle Guadix and Río Seco.
