A man in his late 40s in Jete died after heavy machinery fell on him.

The accident happened on farmland near the cemetery road around 12.50h yesterday. The emergency coordination centre received andalert shortly afterwards.

The centre despatched an ambulance, the Guardia Civil and a work inspector from the Centro de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales.

The paramedics confirmed the death of the 49-year-old victim and the Guardia Civil has begun the relevant protocol in the case of work-place accidents.
