Well, two adventurers from the Valley of Lecrín intend to do precisely that; i.e., participate in the Desert Trophy Panda.
Paduleños, Fernando Cabello and Diego Ortega will attempt this in their SEAT Marbella (40 CV) after departing for Morocco on the 15th of last month.

And it’s not the first time that they have taken part in this rally as they did it last year, too. Since last year, they have given their Panda a good going over, preparing it for the desert event.
They drove from Padul to Almería where they embarked for Nador on the North African coast. There, they and their vehicle were verified for qualification. From Nador they faced a 3,200km journey, comprising six stages over nine days, one of which entails crossing over the Atlas Mountains.
Of course, their objective is to win the rally but almost as important is having a spot of fun. In the April Gazette we will be able to tell you how it all went!
