The Dutch Investment Fund, Green Assets Capital BV, has bought the Santa Clara golf course, fully intending to make it operative again.
Most golf players have heard of the golf course, and some indeed have played on it, but owing to economic and judicial problems, it has been closed since November, 2022 when the previous owners Global Golf gave up on it because of the draught (which had dried out the greens. See photo below) and the legal problems.

The new Dutch owners have appointed administrators/management to solve the last legal hurdles, which are being processed in the Santa Fe lawcourts. Nobody knows when the judicial problems will be sorted out but in the meantime they have hired the Catalan company, Green Project, which is a specialist golf courses, to get the 18 holes in order.
However, there have been other big business that have tried and failed to resurrect the Otura golf course; namely, the Catalan hotel group Oona who bought the course In May 2023, which went nowhere.
The Chairman of the Entidad de Conservación Santa Clara Otura, Jesús Alarcón pointed out that the Dutch Foundation has working experience handling golf courses and that the ECSCO is in contact with the two administrators appointed by the Dutch Fund: “They are entrepreneurs and residents of the urbanización and will decide future jobs,” he said.
