Three Railway Worker Injured

Three rail-safety inspectors (ADIF) travelling in a company vehicle were injured when their car dropped its front end off a country lane

The accident took place on Monday the 13th near Belerda, which is a municipal dependency of Guadix. It seems that the vehicle’s brakes had failed.

The victims were rescued by the Bomberos de la Diputación Provincial de Granada and taken to a medical centre. They had difficultry getting the driver out because his feet were trapped by the pedals.

State owned, ADIF is the Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias, which is responsible for all the rail infrastructure, whilst Renfe is responsible for the moving stock in the whole of Spain.
