New Nerja Pet Park

Pet owners in Nerja are on a roll as they now have somewhere to take their mutts; actually, two 'somewheres.'

These areas are known as Circuitos de Entrenamiento agility, which is a curous mixture of Spanish and English: i.e., Agility Training Circuits.

The Town Hall spent 20,000 euros on these areas, which are located next to the Ciudad Deportiva Enrique López Cuenca and the Parque Verano Azul. They have features that lets your pet “socialise and enjoy open-air, recreational activities,” as described on the packet.

Councillor for Municipal Services, María del Carmen López (PP) visited these new installations and pronounced, “These spaces are specifically designed so that dogs can enjoy secure surroundings.”

The pet areas – and when we say pet, we mean ‘dogs’ – have tunnels, seesaws, raised walkways and canine cocktail bars… OK, the last one might not be the truth, but with the before-mentioned list, you get the idea – it’s an assault course for dogs! Oh, and yes, there are drinking fountains… but no cocktails
