The Mayor of Motril, Luisa García Chamorro, together with the Councillor for Beaches and Little Twiddly Bits, José Peña, have been showing off the new beach assets.
For the cost of 65,000 euros, the Town Hall has placed a new toilet module on Playa Granada and another module for life savers, as part of their Playa Granada facelift. There are also walkways from these new modules down to the shoreline
According to Mayor Chamorro, these improvements are part of their “permanent pledge” to maintain and modernise the beaches.
Councillor Peña, managed to get a word in edgeways with, “We are transforming Motril shoreline, making it more efficient, sustainable and functional, benefiting locals and tourists alike.”
The Mayor, eager to have the last word, perhaps, said that next year “visitors wouldn’t be abe to recognise the beach after such a profound transformation,” adding, “We want the crown jewel of the Costa Tropical to shine as never before.”
Editorial: to our knowledge, nobody had been smoking prior to this press call.
