Almuñécar Town Hall announced that it has suspended the collection of food, water and other necessities for the worst hit towns of Valencia.
The Municipal Football Stadium in Almuñécar and the Centro Cívico in La Herradura were the collection points and to date, three fully loaded trailers have been despatched to the disaster area.

The reason why is quite simply that Valencia has run out of room where to store all the material that has been flooding in (probably not a good verb to use in under these circumstances) from all over the country.
Even so, as the warehouses over there begin to empty, the relaunch a collection campaign has not been ruled out, but this time, for cleaning material (personal hygiene), as well as domestic and industrial cleaning products, and shovels, pickaxes, buckets, etc, too.
For this reason, the Mayor, Juan José Ruiz Joya, has asked Almuñequeros and Laherrudureños not to bring anymore items to the collection points for the time being, until Valencia requests more.
He also stated that his is proud of how people from the municipality have responded with such generosity.
