In the Plenary Meeting of Salobreña Town Council yesterday a motion for a building licence for a complex for the elderly in the beach area of the town was approved.
It will be a group of dwellings within a complex denominated ‘Senior Cohousing;’ in other words, a residential arrangement for people who have reached retirement age and wish to live there permanently.

The complex, with a budget of six-million euros, will consist of 79 dwellings, giving living accommodation for around 200 residents.
Mayor Javier Ortega said that this kind of arrangement was new (to this area) claiming that it was a pioneer project within Granada.
The complex will also provide cleaners, nursing, physiotherapy, chiropody and sports & cultural activities.
