The missing light aircraft has been found together with the bodies of the couple onboard.
The wreckage was found close to the provincial border with Albacete near Navalperal, only 50 kilometres from El Cornicabral Aerodrome, which was their intended destination.
The Guardia Civil had been searching for the missing aircraft for four days and then around 12.50h yesterday the wreckage and the burnt bodies of the couple were found.
It is still not known what caused the accident and it will not be clear until the wreckage is examined by experts in aviation crashes.
The crash site was in a very steep area of the sierra, which made finding it more difficult. The Spanish Air Force joined the search, logging 50 hours of flight time.
The bodies of 68-year-old Alfonso and 65-year-old Isabel were taken firstly to Hospital Sierra de Segura, so that the bodies could be identified by the family. Afterwards they were taken to the Instituto de Medicina Legal in Granada for their respective autopsies.
