The project for a coastal footpath, stretching 82 kilometres, has got the green light, with the first phase beginning next month.
This first phase will join Playa de Cantarriján in La Herradura to Playa Cabria in Almuñécar, including 900 metres between the Marina del Este and Playa del Muerto in Cotobro.

“We are excited about the project getting underway, as it will be the motor powering economic and tourism development,” said Nicolás Navarro, who is the Vice-Chairman of the Provincial Council of Granada.
Amongst the features included in the project are four lookout bridge (bridges with panoramic views) with one on Cabo de Sacratif, for example.
This project will have a budget totally footed by the Provincial Council, whilst the task of maintaining the coastal footpath falls to the Town Hall through whose municipality it passes.
