A man was arrested in Gualchos, suspected of breaking into a cortijo that he intended to squat in, and stealing several items.
The 41-year-old suspect reportedly carried out this act of burglary a little before the 4th of October, which is when the property owner reported the break-in.
Once inside, the suspect stole three guitars: a 1960 Gibson and two Fenders, a box of LPs and bedding worth a total of 11,000 euros. Furthermore, in order to gain access, the damage caused amounted to 1,200 euros.
Guardia Civil officers stationed in Castell de Ferro began an investigation after inspecting the scene of the crime, where they found clues to the identity of the suspect.
Under questioning it came out that the man and his mother intended to squat in the said cortijo, thinking that nobody actually lived there – the owner, however, does live in it. Seeing that it was lived in, they decided not to go home empty handed…
