China to Granada

It looks like the Chinese airline, Air China, is interested in Granada Airport, principally with flights within Andalucia.

Although these flights to and from Sevilla, Málaga or Granada, there is the hope that they might run direct flights with this Asian giant.

The Councillor for Tourism, Arturo Bernal, pointed out that it would be up to the Chinese airline to choose which of these Andalusian cities it is most interested in.

Granada hopes that Alhambra will be the magnate. Their flights normally come into Madrid or Barcelona, and from there could connect with Granada Airport through the existing, dairly connection flights.

the Director of Aeropuerto Federico García Lorca, Julián Torres, expressed the hope that International, long-haul flights from China direct to Granada could be in the wind, “We shall soon see,” he said on their airport’s Linkin account, adding in English, “Air China, see you soon!”

In the meantime, the Chairman of the Asociaciones de Agencias de Viajes de Granada, Juan Peláez, said
that it would be a marvellous opportunity to consolidate the city as an Asian tourist destination. Somebody who travels that far, he observed, will spend at least two or three nights in the city.

As for the Provincial Council, “Flights between Granada and China “would be an brilliant opportunity for the airport, because of the importance of the Chinese market, said its Chairman, Francis Rodríguez. Being a politicians he put down this possible connection down to the Councils hard work.
