The Ministerio de Transportes has ceded a section of the N-323A to Nigüelas between kilometre points 461 and 463; in other words; two kilometres of road.
These two kilometres of the N-323A lie between half way across the bridge over Río Torrente (just beyond the Acequia junction) and the roundabout opposite Mercadona.

This transfer of ownership or responsibility probalby has something to do with the Lidl’s supermarket going up, which will need a junction as an entrance. The Nigüelas Town Hall might even be contemplating the changing the present T-junction entrance for the village to a roundabout, but that is pure speculation.
The section of road changed hands from the 13th of last month after the agreement was signed by both parties.
This change of hands also means that the Town Hall is solely responsible for the maintenance of the road. On the other hand, it does not need to seek permission from the Ministry of Transport to alter the road by adding junctions, which is the case of Salobreña wanting to add a junction to the N-340.
