There was a road accident in Almuñécar on the N-340 resulting in four people injured.
The accident occurred around 20.00h and eyewitnesses phoned the incident in to 112 at kilometre point 313. However, one of our readers also kindly sent the image used in this article which more accurately locates the scene near the closed-down restaurant Mateano.
Amongst those injured were two men, aged 37 and 45 and two minors aged seven and 15. The adults where taken to Hospital Virgen de las Nieves in Granada and the two minors to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril
A Guardia Civil de Tráfico patrol, an ambulance, and road maintenance workers were sent to the scene with the latter needed to remove debris from the road surface.
Later yesterday evening there was also an accident around 21.15h on the exit ramp of the GR-30 Granada bypass autovia between two cars, one of which went over the side of the road and down an embankment.
Again, four people were injured; two women aged 22 and 24 and two men aged 19 and 21, all of whom were taken to hospital Virgen de las Nieves.
