This latest one was a little more boisterous, registering 4.2 on the Richter Scale.
The seismic movement took place during the early hours of yesterday and centred out to sea to the South of Alborán but felt all the way along Costa Tropical and Costa del Sol. However, it was more strongly felt in the Spanish North-African enclave city of Melilla.
According to the Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN) the tremor occurred at 02.40h, some 19 kilometres down. It was followed by several after shocks measuring between 1.6 and 2.9.
