It will get colder and wet for the rest of this week and into the next, thanks to a polar cold front moving down from Greenland.

Yesterday the cold front arrived in the north of the Iberian peninsular bringing rain and wind whilst down here in the evening temperatures started to drop.

However across Andalucia, the clear skies will have gone and a hint of rain in Western Andalucia around midday. Temperatures will continue to drop.

Saturday will be the coldest day accompanied by rainfall. Of all the Andalusian provinces, Granada will have the lowest, around 6ºC. Sunday the skies might begin to clear with bright intervals before closing in again and more rainfall

So let’s be a little more specific:

Friday morning around 06.00h temperatures will be between 15ºC and 16ªC on the coast, where inland it will be 7ºC in Dúrcal and Lanjarón and 4ºC in Trevélez. By noon temperatures on the coast will be between 19ºC and 21ºc, whilst inland, it will be 17ºC in Dúrcal and Lanjarón and 12ºC in Trevélez.

Saturday, the coast will have lows of 11º/13ºC and highs of 20º/21ºC. Inland, Dúrcal and Lanjarón with lows of 6ºC and highs of 13ºC. Trevélez will have a low of 2ºC and a high of 12ºC.

Sunday, Almuñécar/Salobreña/Motril will have lows of 10º/12ºC and highs of 20º/22ºC. Inland, Dúrcal and Lanjarón with lows of 4ºC and highs of 18ºC. Trevélez will have a low of 1ºC and a high of 13ºC.

Finally, on Monday, Almuñécar/Salobreña/Motril will have lows of 10º/13ºC and highs of 20º/22ºC. Inland, Dúrcal and Lanjarón with lows of 5ºC and highs of 18ºC. Trevélez will have a low of 1ºC and a high of 12ºC.

Temperatures will remain like this until Wednesday at least. As for rainfall, rain will appear in the west of the province (Loja) making its way east by 07.00h Saturday morning. The highest probability of rain (100%) is Monday between noon and six in the afternoon and between 80% and 95% on the coast during this time period.

Snow? Monday early morning from 1,600 metres, meaning that there will be snowfall on the Sierra Nevada.
