Our Weather Page

We've overhauled the weather page by switching the source from El Tiempo.es to the official Spanish meteorological agency AEMET.

GRA Weather Forecast from AEMETThere are two reasons for this. Firstly because the previous, weather-forecast source now forces visitors to either accept all their cookies or pay a monthly fee.

This sort of thing is becoming more and more widespread over Internet and really makes a mockery of the EU law obligating websites to provide the option of refusing cookies without denying access.

The Seaside Gazette just gives you a clear, do-you-want-them;-yes-or-no? choice, without having to go through a list of cookies that you can opt to allow.

The second reason is because the official Spanish meteorological agency is more accurate and offers more information.

There is a down side to this in that it only deals with municipalities and not municipal dependencies like La Herradura, so there is no separate option for La Herradura.

We have added two more location options, one of which is for Castell de Ferro. We can’t for obvious reasons provide a photo and direct link to all of the province’s municipality (well over a hundred) so we added a “municipality search” option which is easy to use. Just find your municipality within the drop-down list under “Seleccione Municipio.” Unfortunately, it still does not list the relatively new municipality of Torrenueva Costa but Motril’s weather will cover it.
