Is nothing sacred? The Guardia Civil are investigating a suspect, thought to have stolen three tonnes of his neighbour's firewood!

The 64-year-old man from Santa Fe is thought to have half-inched 3,000 kilos of cosy-fire fodder last December, after taking down a section of the wire fence that surrounds his neighbour’s property in order to get his van in.

Officers from Armilla took up the investigation and carried out an inspection of the ‘scene of the crime,’ and there they found tyre tracks in the mud!

Suspecting neighbourly foul play, they compared the tyres tread on the accused’s large van to those prints left in the mud and lo! They matched.
