The Policía Local in Motril had cause to arrest a man in his 40s who had an arrest warrant out on him in Barcelona.
The 41-year-old man has a criminal record including robbery.
The arrest took place in the early hours of Wednesday, the 1st of November, shortly after receiving a call out over a man lying seriously injured near the old Santa Amelia residency.
When they arrived it was to find a man on the ground bleeding profusely from his arm, so they applied a tourniquet and other First Aid measures before he was taken to Hospital Santa Ana
Checking the man’s ID, they found that he had an arrest warrant out on him issued by law courts in Barcelona and Badalona.
That same evening prior to the above incident, there had been a break-in at a well known shop in the town centre. Inside the police had found large amounts of blood, leading the police to link the two separate incidents, considering that the thief had cut himself on broken glass gaining entrance.
