Mugged at an ATM

A British resident in his 70s was mugged in Talará after he had withdrawn money from the ATM.

The incident took place during the morning after the 75-year-old man had collected 900 euros from the cash machine.

At that very moment he was shoved from behind by an individual, snatching the bank notes from the victim. An accomplice was waiting in a car for both of them to make their speedy getaway.

The victim immediately went to the Guardia Civil post in Dúrcal, which unfortunately was closed at that time, so he returned to Talará and went to the Town Hall where he explained what had happened to him. There they advised him to report the incident to the Guardia Civil post in Armilla.

Consequently, the Lecrín Town Hall sent a communique via Whatsapp warning citizens to be careful when
withdrawing money from a cash point (ATM).
