Car Hits Baby & Woman

A woman who was driving through the city of Granada, went up onto the pavement and ran into a woman and a baby, injuring both.

GRA C&M car hits baby in pramThis occurred on Avenida Doctor Olóriz on the 31st of July at 09.00h as the driver was pulling up for the traffic lights on the Avenida de La Constitución crossroads, according to the Policía Local.

The accident was caused by a momentary distraction on the part of the driver, which she was unable to explain. The car came to rest against a lamppost.

The baby, which was in a pram/pushchair, when struck by the car, was rushed to the Hospital Materno Infantil with slight bruising.

The other injured person, a 70-year-old woman, was treated for a blow to the head and was taken to hospital together with the driver who had chest pains caused when the airbags went off.

Editorial note: what’s not clear is whether the elderly woman was pushing the pram (the child’s grandmother) or she had no connection with the baby in the pram and that the mother who was pushing it was not hit.
