Starting on the 2nd of August, the voluntary period for paying your local taxes begins, lasting until the 4th of October, after that, there is a surcharge.
We’re referring to the:
Impuesto sobre Vehículos de Tracción Mecánica (vehicle tax)
Impuesto sobre Bienes Inmuebles (IBI)
Impuesto sobre Bienes Inmuebles de Características Especiales e Impuesto sobre Actividades Económicas 2023
Third quarter, Tasa de Mercados correspondiente.
Therefore…. fun, fun, fun! The bills will be delivered through your letterbox in your place of residence (Spanish home).
The Town Hall says that if you don’t receive one, you can obtain one at the Oficinas del Servicio de Gestión Tributaria del Consistorio, which you will find on the Plaza de la Libertad, Nº3. You’ll be asked for your NIE/TIE (Spanish ID Card). You can also do it online via https://sede.motril.es.
As for coughing up, you can pay through the following banking entities: CaixaBank, BBVA and the savings bank, Caja Rural de Granada. Again, you can also do it online using a VISA or MasterCard.
The Town Hall, of course, recommends that you take out a standing order so as to avoid inconveniences. If you do already have one set up, the dosh comes out on the 31st of August.
