It's hot and tempers soon get overheated behind steering wheels and Patience gets left on the roadside.
This was the case in Torre del Mar where a Colombian, female driver attacked another road user with a screwdriver on Sunday night in the centre of the said town.
The 45-year-old culprit was soon arrested by the Policía Local from Vélez-Málaga for allegedly attacking a 22-year-old Moroccan motorbike rider around 21.30h in the said evening.
Apparently, the Colombian woman drove into the Moroccan’s bike, who had a passenger on the back. The impact didn’t cause injuries but it damaged the bike. He was not pleased.
Immediately, a heated argument broke out leading to the woman getting out of her car armed with a large screwdriver, shouting, “Moros de mierda” (which is a habitual, little-endearing, Spanish term used to describe anybody from North Africa) as she chased after the soon-to-be victim and his passenger.
The rider tripped over, however, and she caught up and delivered five stab wounds to his back, allegedly, reportedly and supposedly. Fortunately, none of them were deep enough wounds that would endanger his life.
Several bystanders shouted at her to stop trying to dismantle the gentleman with a screwdriver but she wasn’t keen on being pacified.
Fortunately, within minutes, a Policía Local patrol turned up and arrested the woman and the victim was taken to the area hospital’s A&E Department.
But the heatwave got worse yesterday and it was the turn of police officers to be the victims of an attack — not the Colombian woman, who had reportedly calmed down by then, but by a 53-year-old man just outside the Tax Office. Let’s face it, nobody is in a good mood within 50 paces of that particular building.
It was midday when the officer noticed the individual wrestling with the building’s security guard. The officer told him to desist, which didn’t work out well because the said individual started insulting and threatening him instead.
Whilst the officer was digesting the information offered concerning his virility and his mother’s occupation, another officer turned up, so the culprit then went to DefCon Two and physically attacked one of them. The result was that the man was arrested. Neither officer required medical attention.
Today is going to be hot, as well… thought that we might mention that, so stay clear of Central American, female drivers with tool kits and anybody not pleased with their quarterly tax bill.
