A roundabout will replace the junction on the N-323a just after the bridge between Dúrcal and Padul, in front of Neumáticos Iglesias.

The existing junction is a bit of a tricky hodgepodge where the A-3208 coming off the autovía and meets the N-323a. Fortunately there is plenty of room for a roundabout there.

The project has a budget of 548,000 euros, which will come entirely from the Ministerio de Fomento, thanks to an accord between this ministry and Dúrcal Town Hall in 2006 when this stretch of road became the latter’s responsibility.

This project also includes a pedestrian footpath from La Trinchera to Marchena, passing in front of the Mezquita as far as the weigh bridge.

The Mayor of Dúrcal (at the time of writing) Julio Prieto, said, “This is for the benefit of both traffic and pedestrians, providing better safety along this stretch of road so that residents of Marchena can walk to Dúrcal without danger.”
