La Caleta Work Concludes

The said work had been carried out on Calle Ramblilla de La Caleta, revamping the pavement alongside the plazoleta (small square) and bus shelter. They have also changed the street furniture and signposting for the zebra crossing.

The biosaludable park has been returned to its place; i.e., work-out apparatus for the elderly. The whole thing cost 190,000 euros, which came from the municipal coffers.

The Mayor explained that work had originally begun in 2019 but when the pandemic hit it ground to a halt, as the Town Hall had other priorities. The first, pre-pandemic phase ran from between the Plazoleta down to the Plaza del Lavadero. The next phase on the section that runs up to the Casa de La Cultura was carried out last year.

The whole project took in changes to rain drainage and sewage pipes, and consequent resurfacing of the pavements, etc.
