We've had a reader writing in concerning the municipal gymnasium in Salobreña, which closed down during the pandemic, but still remains closed.
The reader explained he had always been a keen walker and even did a spot of being a guide for other but that during those Covid months he had had to undergo surgery to have both knees replaced at Hospital Santa Ana.
After being discharged from hospital they recommended follow-up physiotherapy treatment and as Salobreña has a municipal gym, he thought that it would be perfect for him to get back on form. However, the gym remains closed down so that is not possible.
He has got no joy from the Town Hall as to why they were keeping it closed, as gyms in other towns and private ones have reopened; some of which maintain hand gels and mask precautions.
He asked us to look into this and we shall. Furthermore, politicians holding down mayoralties are more receptive than normal because of the looming elections in May next year.
We are sure that other readers in Salobreña would also like to have the use of the gym, so perhaps they could leave a comment at the bottom of this article. In the meantime, the Seaside Gazette will try and get an answer from the Mayor, Sra. Rufino.
