Police Patrol Nevada Parking

The Guardia Civil in Granada set up controls inside the Nevada Shopping Centre, which cause collective surprise.

GRA Guardia Officers Stopping Drivers in Nevada Shopping Centre ParkingThe officers were stopping cars entering or leaving the shopping-centre, parking area beneath the building and checking drivers’ IDs and other documentation. In some cases, they searched car boots.

The Guardia Civil Headquarters in the city explained that these stop & searches were mounted with an objetiver of determent and were not looking for anybody or anything in particular.

Be that as it may, it is far from common to see the Guardia Civil checking cars in commercial parking areas – sometimes you might find a Policía Local patrol car making a brief appearance but not a mounted control point.

Editorial comment: the HQ also said that they had not found anything suspicious during their activity there, but we all know that they were after the Three Kings and Santa Klaus, following a turf-war clash using war camels and ninja elves… Remember that you read it here first!
