The first road accident occurred on Friday the 7th within the municipality of Santa Fe, whilst the second, Saturday the 8th, occurred in Güéjar Sierra.
The accident on the 7th involved a car that left the road around 05.30h. The six occupants were all injured to varying degrees.
A witness called 112 to say a car was lying on its roof in the centre section of the A-92 autovía around kilometre point 231, near the exit for the airport on the Almería-bound lane. Two of the passengers were trapped inside.
The Guardia Civil traffic police, the Granada city fire service and an ambulance were despatched to the scene, as well as a road-maintenance crew to clear the road of wreckage.
When they were cut out of the wreck, the remaining two victims were taken to Traumatología (Virgen de las Nieves) in the city.
The following day, a driver and passenger had a lucky escape when his car plunged 20 metres down a hillside. Thanks to the heavy undergrowth that they passed through, their descent was slowed so that they ended up, the right way up, on a dirt track below (see photo).
The accident, which took place just after noon, yesterday, was attended by an ambulance which took the occupants to the Hospital Clínico Universitario in the city.
