The Policía Local of Poio in Galicia have issued a fine against a man from Granada who had been caught charging his electric car from a lamppost.
The culprit was caught last Thursday on the La Explanada de A Seca in this village within the province of Pontevedra (Galicia), thanks to a passerby who had spotted it and reported it to the police.
When the police got there it was to find the vehicle (little more than a buggy) snuggly linked up to the lamppost. “We observed an electric Twizy E-Tech charging directly from the municipal lighting supply,” explained the officer.
The give-away as to who owned it was that the vehicle bore the name and logo of a shop in the city of Granada. Furthermore, the police discovered that the culprit is an electrician by trade.
Editorial comment: the question is, how the hell did the vehicle owner get the thing up to Pontevedra about a thousand kilometres away? We can rule out that he drove it there. Oh, and by the way, we reported on a similar incident back in June,
