Río Verde Helicopter Rescue

The Guardia Civil, mountain-rescue service was called out to rescue an excursionist in the waters of La Junta de Los Ríos (Otívar)

COS Junta de Los Rios Rescue 400x250The 38-year-old man from Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz), managed to dislocate his shoulder jumping from one of the waterfalls.

His companions phoned 112 to report the accident because the victim was in too much pain to make his way out.

A 2-man team was flown down from Granada in the Guardia Civil rescue helicopter to winch the victim out and fly him to the helipad on the roof of the PTS hospital in Granada.

    So you hike along a lovely area. Get to a point above or beside a waterfall and jump. It’s a bit like jumping from the rock at Salobrena. Ok if you miss the rocks you cannot see.
    The old theory of evolution works here. The dumbest die early.!
    Still gives the helicopter chappies real work to do . Rather then swan around the sea area at Salobrena.
