Salobreña will be holding a sports & leisure event this weekend entitled Wild Beach Games, which will include free classes.
When we say classes we mean classes on how to do handstands and skipping with a skipping rope – pensioners desist – they don’t want people running wild! There is also paddle surfing available!
The competitions, which will be held near the Peñon, are divided into four individuals categories; RX masculino y femenino, Intermedio masculino y femenino, Escaled masculino y femenino and Máster 35/45 masculino y femenino.
There are also two categories for groups: Equipos RX y Equipos Escaled, which will be made up of two men and one woman (apparently there are more males that females interested in competing).
Saturday the 14th will include the first three competitions between 08.30h and 20.00h, ending with prize givings. They won’t be based on elimination meaning that competitors can compete in all five categories.
The highest standard categories (RX) will be awarded three cash prizes whilst the other categories the winners will receive sports equipment donated by sponsoring companies.
The event is organised by The Wild Competition Company and Salobreña Town Hall.

I must be getting old. In my younger days. That sort of weekend involved one or two drinks. Some very pretty women. Everyone of them was pretty and we were all handsome. Plus for some. Dodgy herbs.
