The impressive sailing ship, Sea Cloud, is docked at Motril Port but will set sail again around midday today after a one-and-a-half-day stay.
The 4-masted cruise ship that can set a full 30 sails, has room for 45 passengers for travelling in luxury and is manned by a crew of 57.
The passengers onboard this trip are all American, who have paid between 7,000 and 13,600 euros for a voyage between Lisbon and Valencia.
During this short stay the passengers have had a chance to visit the Costa Tropical and inland Granada. They’ve also managed to squeeze in an excursion to the Axarquía over the border in the Province of Málaga.
Accommodation on the sailing ship is two individual suites; one each for the owners, and 11 double suites for guests. Luxury details include Carrara-marble baths with gold taps and noble-wood furnishings.
This luxury cruise line has visited Motril Port on 28 previous occasions with its sailing ships, 14 of which correspond to the Sea Cloud, which is a fair indication of the popularity of the port and its surrounding area for the shipping line’s clients.
The Sea Cloud is the third cruise ship to visit Motril Port during April and another 19 are scheduled to visit this season.
