Salobreña Town Hall has decided that the best way to get news out about cultural activities is to send it by Whatsapp.
Obviously, they’re not going to spam you until your eyes bleed; you’ll have to request the service so that you can be in the loop about cultural and sporting activity.
All you have to do is donate your children for medical experiments… Sorry, that’s the Almuñécar Town Hall one.
No, all you have to do is put 670 451 779 in your smartphone agenda so that it registers on your Whatsapp application.
Once you’ve done that, then send a Whatsapp message with your name & surname and the phone number on which you wish to receive this information. Once you have registered, it gives the Town Hall permission to hold your personal data, as stipulated under the Ley de Protección de Datos but only for the purpose of the app. In other words, they can’t sell it to a Jamaican hacker in exchange for BBQ recipes.
Now, this is a one-way channel, meaning that you can’t Whatsapp them with questions, complaints, love notes or marriage proposals.
If at any time you no longer wish to receive more Whatsapp messages from them, you need only send an email containing the word ‘Baja‘ to comunicacion@ayto-salobrena.org.
If afterwards you find a severed horse head in your bed, you’re being invited to reconsider.

JD: I doubt it but cultural and especially sports information is pretty much understandable even armed with little Spanish vocabulary.
Martin,
Do they offer this facility in English?
