Not Camera Shy

SAL Asador QuinchoWe know this because the restaurant has CCTV and it was clearly recorded – both indiviuals were wearing baseball caps.

An hour and a half later, (02.36h) just after a nearby Kebab fast food had closed for the night, the same two individuals returned and broke open the door to the restaurant’s kitchen.

Once inside, the first thing they did was to smash a camera, but they failed to notice that there was another one recording them.

The two men then made off with the cigarette machine and the till to break them open in the Urbanización Mare Nostrum where the restaurant is located. However, the said urbanizacion also has CCTV surveillance… and their deeds were recorded again.

So far, they had been recorded on three separate video cameras so they were on a roll. Indeed they had enough footage to produce and enter their own film at the Cannes Film Festival in May, entitled, “The Unperceived.”

But putting aside their celluloid future… The police have computer programmes to enhance images so that faces can be recognised if a video quality is poor. The thieves weren’t shy, either because just about all of time they had their faces uncovered until one suddenly decided to cover his – ‘shut the stable door after the horse has bolted,’ comes to mind.

Just in case there was any doubt about their identity, the thieves, in a fit of generosity, left a handsome smattering of finger prints.
