Almuñécar Town Hall has been working on converting the space below and in front of a section of Aqueduct into a permanent event area.
The section concerned is at the top of San Sebastian (Santa Cruz) where candle-lit piano concerts have been held before now.
“We have improved the entrance with a better ramp, provided electrical installations, and also improved signposting,” explained the Councillor for Culture, adding that they had enlarged the available space to accommodate larger events by laying a bed of gravel.
Councillor Alberto García Gilabert concluded by saying, “as a result we have ended up with recovering one of the most wonderful parks in our municipality, for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.”
The overhaul cost all told some 30,000 euros, explained the councillor which just happens to coincide with a nice, round, five million pesetas, such are the wonders of coincidence.
