The Guardia Civil pulled over a car in Hornachuelos (Córdoba) with four young lads onboard, having left Madrid and entered Andalucía...
Asked whether they knew that you couldn’t travel outside your own region without a valid reason, they said they did and had been employed to pick oranges.
The policeman expressed his surprise because the orange picking on that particular farm that they had mentioned had already concluded and asked them for a work contract or even justification note from their employer.
They then gingerly provided the said justification note on their mobile phones but the Guardia Civil officers, whilst idly carving his initials on their paintwork (just joking) checked them out and lo, the justification note was deemed of the Mickey Mouse variety, optimistically knocked up by a friend of the furtive four.
With all their IDs noted along with the car details, they were ordered to turn around and sling their hook. In the meantime the Green Meanie administrative side of things trundled along and came up with charges of forgery and breaking the Covid restrictions on inter-regional mobility.
