Back to Level Three

The Área Sanitaria Sur de Granada has dropped to Level Three, as of today, meaning a reduction in occupation percentages for bars & restaurants, for example.

GRA Level Three 26MR21This means that in all of the Costa Tropical and the Alpujarra Granadina, bars and restaurants can only have 50% of their normal seating in interior dining areas but 100% of outside terraces. Shops can have 60% of their aforo (max persons).

In effect it means that we have joined the rest of Granada with the whole province on Level Three.

It doesn’t affect the closing times nor what time the curfew comes into effect, which stay as they are.

The above information was published in the BOJA: Extraordinario núm. 25 – Jueves, 25 de marzo de 2021

(News: Costa Tropical/Alpujarra, Granada, Andalucia)

Paul: No, all that stays as it is. This is only about occupancy in businesses, which in Spanish is the aforo; i.e., max capacity. Back in the UK on the double deckers you had a max occupancy upstair of X amount, downstairs of X amount and X amount standing – that is the aforo. How many can sit at the table is a distributive thing within the max persons permitted in a given space.

Basically, the Junta at the last minute has gone and thrown everybody into doubt when they were just about beginning to grasp what the hell is going on over Easter.

This latest decision is something that bars and restaurants have to fathom out; not the customers.

The situation is best described as: most of us are blind in both eyes, some have only got one eye and are very shortsighted and we’re all trying to lip read what a gibbering herd of politicians in a sound-proof glass box are trying to tell us. 😉

just for clarification for us ‘normal’ people, does this mean we are back to 4 people round a table in a restaurant or is it still 6?
