Motril, Secicar & The Navy

The hydrocarbon storage and distribution company, Secicar SA, based in Motril, has landed a contract to supply the Spanish navay with marine fuel.

MOT Secicar Installation in the PortThis contract will run for two years and is worth 16-million euros. When the results of the contract bidding was announced on the 9th of March, Secicar had beaten its closest rival (Element Alpha SA), with the cheapest bid.

Secicar SA, which belongs to the Grupo Hafesa, set up its installations in the Zona de Actividades Logísticas (ZAL) within Motril Port and has a storage capacity of 104,000 cu/m.

The company primarily caters for suppliers of heating fuel, as well as diesel for transport companies, but in the near future it intends to enter the renewable energy market.
