Pay Per View Scam Busted

SPN Pay Per View ScamFive suspects were arrested: three in A Coruña and one in Barcelona and another in Madrid.

With search warrants the police confiscated ten decoders, seven high-range mobile phones, two computers, two tablets, 28 Ethereum crypto-currency coins and 1,250 euros in cash.

However, the police estimate that the suspects could have made around a million euros a year.

The police investigation began at the beginning of last year after receiving a complaint revealing the existence of an illicit, pay-per-view, TV service and eventually discovered the identity of the the people suspected of being behind it.

The police noted that the man arrested in Mataró in Barcelona had managed to set up a very professional system, offering two different packages, one of which included more channels and viewing quality.

Such was the scope of the system that they had some 20,000 end users, paying 50 euros, which suggests an income of around one million euros a year.
