The Motril fire service was sent to put out burning rubbish hoppers last night on the Avenida de Andalucía, not far from the beach.

It was around 20.00h that the fire service received the call out to extinguish two rubbish hoppers that several individuals had deliberately set alight.

As chance would have it, on Sunday the Policía Local had praised the civic behaviour of the citizens of Salobreña as many headed for the town’s cemetery to celebrate All Saints Day, yet now they are having to issue a statement condemning this act of vandalism caused by just a few.
