A-44 Granada Diversions

COS Malaha Turn Off on A-44The second (outer) ringroad under construction around Granada will cause diversions on the A-44 near the Suspiro del Moro area.

The work comprises of laying tarmac on the section joining the A-44 (Costa Tropical-Jaén autovía) as well as load testing on a new fly over.

Phase One: Northbound Lanes, 26th to the 30th.

Between 07.00h and 21.00h, northbound lanes will funnel into a single-lane between Kilometre Point 144 and Kilometre Point 141. Consequently the Padul/Otivar junction will be closed to Granada-bound traffic and motorists will have to use the old N-323a.

Between 21.00h and 07.00h: both lanes of the northbound will be closed and traffic will be diverted onto the N-323a until the Otura junction where drivers will be able to return to the A-44.

During the All Saints Day bank holiday: from 13.00h on Friday the 30th until 09.00h on Tuesday the 3rd, there will be no diversion in place.

Phase Two: Southbound Lanes from the 3rd to the 6th of November.

Between 07.00h and 21.00h, southbound lanes will funnel into a single-lane between Kilometre Point 139 and Kilometre Point 144. Consequently the Otura junction bleed-in lane will be closed to Motril-bound traffic and motorists will have to use the old N-323a.

Between 21.00h and 07.00h: both southbound lanes will be closed and traffic will be diverted onto the N-323a between Otura junction  and the Padul junction after which drivers will be able to return to the A-44.

All this depends on the weather – if it chucks it down, roadworks will come to a halt until it lifts, so expect changes to the above.
