Spain Reaches A Million Cases

SPN Covid AmbulanceThe first case of Covid-19 in Spain was a German tourist on La Gomera (Canary Islands), eight months later, we have just reached one milliion.

Spain has become the first European country to reach that mark, even ‘competing’ with other countries such as Germany, France and the UK, which all have larger populations.

This figure was reached yesterday after the Ministerio de Sanidad announced 16,973 new cases, bringing the total to 1,005,295 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 in the country.

This news clearly demonstrate that cases in Spain have not peaked but rather continue to climb bringing closer the decision by the Regional and Central Governments to impose more restrictions, ranging between a curfew like that in France to a short, sharp, complete, clamp down lasting two weeks. By this weekend, we will know.
